The Plasticfree.nyc team is dedicated to doing our best to minimize plastic waste. We rely on our neighbors in New York City to review the packaging of their takeout food orders so that everyone can see which restaurants are taking steps to use compostable or otherwise biodegradable material, respecting requests for eliminating utensils and straws, and avoiding overpackaging while delivering food without leaks or spills.

We do our best to make sure that our ratings are up to date, but of course business grow and change. Company policies are subject to new management teams or ownership, and it is possible that a given restaurant may no longer live up to prior standards. We are continually refining our databases in an effort to give New Yorkers current and accurate information to help provide for a greener, sustainable city.

This website and the underlying project are non-profit efforts. We do not sell advertising space on the site, and we have no financial relationship with any restaurant, review site, or online food delivery service.
